Taliban captured joint military base, 180 soldiers surrendered to Taliban.



      Afghan Media reports that Taliban have taken control of a joint military base in northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan and approx 180 soldiers have surrendered to Taliban after a 5 days siege. Sources say that Afghan National Army also surrendered their weapons and equipments to Taliban.

The Afghan authorities had already warned Govt to take immediate action otherwise many lives of soldiers will be lost. According to Afghan National Media, 25+ Afghan soldiers have been killed in the battle. This attack is part of the Taliban country wide operations under the name “Azm”. Taliban have took several districts and key villages and check posts since the start of operation Azm.


Last days, hundreds of Taliban fighters armed with heavy and light weapons launched a coordinated attack on security check posts in Yamgan district, forcing the Afghan troops to tactically step back in a bid to prevent the civilian casualties.
